Despite the announced ceasefire between India and Pakistan several days ago the hacktivist landscape remains engaged in cyber attacks. Hacktivist groups continue to manipulate the information space, causing confusion and uncertainty in both India and Pakistan. Claims in media reporting of 70% of India’s power grid being taken down by cyber attacks is just one example of how hacktivist actions are creating a noisy information space. This manipulation of the information space around the conflict is more impactful than the majority of the cyber attacks taking place.
DDoS and Defacement remain the most used cyber attacks by hacktivists involved in the ongoing India-Pakistan tensions.
New groups continue to declare their intent to be involved, or are conducting cyber attacks.
There have been several claimed data breach attacks - however, some I have reviewed appear to be fake, or overstated claims based on publicly available data.
