Hi all, thanks for your continued support and patience with the latest update. As I am sure you can all imagine it is pretty chaotic to track multiple groups across two conflicts with all the nuance that goes with it.
I get updates from people all over the world that they see my cyber tracker being used in all kinds of awesome places, thanks for trusting in it as a reliable source. I enjoy doing it and hope you continue to find value from it.
The latest update sees continued increase in tracked group who are anti-Israel. With a total of 118 groups. Compared to 19 who support Israel. Worth noting that I have not seen any open-source reporting about state actors yet, if you have, please let me know.
Key insights from this update:
137 total groups - making it more than the maximum amount for Russia-Ukraine cyber trackers at 128.
There are at least 22 groups who started operating after the 7 October attacks by Hamas on Israel.
The majority of groups continue to be from Asia and are settling long-held grievances. Many groups are on version 3 of #opIsrael.
DDoS and Defacement attacks are still the most widely executed.
There have been many alleged Breach and Leak attacks - but many of these have been easily confirmed to be fake. The attacks are using open-source data or old data leaks.
Bangladesh, Indonesia and Malaysia are the most heavily represented anti-Israel countries of origin for hacktivist groups.
India is the largest outside of Israel for the pro-Israel groups.
As always if you have any tips or advice, or you would like anything clarified please reach out. I note that there are increasing numbers of cyber trackers around and often they are inaccurate.
